E-Bikes Are a Reflection of Human Nature…

Today I was thinking about the relative safety of electric bikes, and I came to this realization.

E-bikes are a reflection of human nature, and they are only as dangerous as the operator him or herself plus pedestrians and vehicles nearby…

Here’s what I mean.

If you treat a car poorly, and drive recklessly, a car becomes a very dangerous object.

In contrast, if you drive conservatively, slow down, and maintain your vehicle properly chances are good that you will avoid serious harm.

For all the people talking about outlier cases such as e-bike batteries catching on fire or collisions with pedestrians we need to realize that it’s less about e-bikes themselves, and more about human nature and its shortcomings.
